Hackney Mortuary required a complete refurbishment of the mortuary to increase capacity, installation of energy efficient refrigeration units and family viewing area. The heritage building was the base for operation mincemeat in WW2 and the client required a long-term solution that reflected its historical value in the community.

The Project

The mortuary increased its refrigeration capacity from 6 to 13 bays to support the additional demand within the unit. A flexible refrigeration unit was also installed to support bariatric loading weight. Two tray transfer tables with a transfer system were installed to provide a solid workstation for the user, reducing the health and safety risks, need for manual handling and provided easy lifting of the deceased to and from any equipment.
Any fumes were extracted within the perimeter of the table to protect the user from potential harmful fumes at the source.

Testimonial

“To be honest, I cannot fault LEEC on their performance on this project. This was our first Mortuary and the Project Manager and Installation Team provided expert guidance from the day we engaged with them. A massive thank you must go to Ian for his commitment and his professionalism towards the entire project; nothing phased them or was too much hassle”
