Roseland Park Crematorium – Body Storage & Cremator Charging System
LEEC designed, manufactured and installed a complete body storage system, cremator charger and docking station for the brand-new Roseland Park Crematorium in Shirebrook.
Body Storage System
The new facility was developed through a partnership between Bolsover District Council and Shirebrook Town Council. The project was established to meet the growing demand for local funeral services and reduce pressure on other crematoria in the region operating at high capacity.
Work on the project began in September 2023, delivering a much-needed, environmentally friendly crematorium for the local community. The facility has been an important development for the area, providing families with a local alternative and reducing the need to travel long distances to attend funerals.
As part of the project, the LEEC team designed and installed a bespoke refrigerated body storage unit. The fully insulated system was designed to accommodate coffins and body trays safely and efficiently within the crematorium. An integrated rigid internal structure, manufactured from stainless steel, provides robust support while helping to maintain an even temperature throughout the cabinet.
The system was specifically designed with both operational efficiency and dignity in mind, providing a practical solution that supports operators while maintaining appropriate standards for the care of the deceased.
LEEC Kompact X Cremator Charger
LEEC also supplied and installed a Kompact X Cremator Charger and docking station. The charger enables the coffin to be transferred directly to and from the rear of the cremator in a single controlled movement, significantly reducing the requirement for additional manual handling.
Its robust construction and powerful traction drive provide smooth movement and precise manoeuvrability, supporting operators during the cremation process. The system has been designed to prioritise both operator support and the dignity of the deceased. The charger’s straightforward operation also makes it suitable for installations where cremations may be witnessed by members of the public through a gallery window, including witnessed cremations required by certain religious practices.
