Plant Growth and Seed Germination Cabinets

LEEC Plant Growth / Germination Cabinets are based on LEEC Cooled Incubators with easily programmed automatically simulated day and night conditions

The temperature control is cycled using a 24 hour/7 day digital timer with digital over and under temperature protection and alarms are fitted as standard. The chambers are fan assisted for optimum temperature performance and stability, which in turn provides reliable, accurate storage for samples. However, temperature performance can be marginally affected during the “lights on” cycle due to a small amount of heat from the lights radiating into the growth chamber.

The 24 hour/7 day digital timer controls the day/night cycle of lights on/lights off and each outer door is fitted with one pair of white fluorescent tubes which give a lighting intensity of approximately 3000 lux on each shelf. Higher lighting intensities and specialised applications or extra fluorescent light tubes (or UV tubes) can be requested so please discuss your requirements with us.

All lights are mounted vertically in the outer door which is vented at the top and bottom which means that the unwanted heat from the light tubes can escape into the laboratory. Cabinets fitted with four or more lights in each door also have a small extract fan in the door to help remove excess heat which helps to maintain stable control, especially at lower chamber temperatures.

Models SL2 and SL3 are sealed chamber versions of models PL2 and PL3. SL2 and SL3 should be used for high humidity applications. Their sealed, water-tight chambers are necessary when high levels of humidity are required inside the chamber or for storage/incubation of wet samples/moist plants.

High humidity applications requiring precise humidity control are possible thanks to a microprocessor controller regulating an ultrasonic fine mist humidity generator inside the chamber to increase the humidity only as required. This gives the LEEC system outstanding accuracy but with economy of use. The humidity generator has no moving parts, giving it improved reliability and an external water reservoir is included with all RH models.
