Managing Director Paul Venners awarded OBE in New Year's Honour's list

Happy New Year!

LEEC are starting the year celebrating, as the new year rang in wonderful news for our owner and Managing Director Paul Venners, who was awarded an OBE in the Queens New Year’s Honours List.

The OBE, or its official title 'Officer of the most excellent Order of the British Empire', is a huge privilege and awarded to individuals who have been outstanding in their chosen field, has created a significant positive impact. Nominees for the award are assessed by a UK Government committee and those deemed to meet the stringent criteria are shortlisted to the UK Prime Minister, who presents the honour proposal to her Majesty the Queen for her direct approval.

The OBE is only surpassed by a Knighthood or CBE in the UK so is of the highest-ranking.

Paul is a Forensic Services / Mortuary Design / Facilities Management Consultant and, is also the Managing Director and owner of LEEC Ltd.

Joining LEEC in 1988 Paul has spent his career improving Hospital Mortuary and Post-Mortem room facilities in the UK and Internationally, developing building designs that created an optimal workflow, maximising space within a limited footprint to both provide clinical future proof facilities that were absolutely fit for purpose while minimising construction costs.

Ergonomic Equipment was developed to protect end-users (Pathologists, Mortuary technicians and Porters) from risks associated with afterlife care, mainly surrounding various manual handling issues of deceased patients.

It was equally essential to protect the dignity of the deceased patient to the highest degree, not only for the patient but the patients next of kin.

Building design efficiency, the Health and Safety of end-users and the protection of a patient’s dignity were fundamentally important and the driving force that led to the renovation of existing Mortuaries and new build schemes throughout the UK.

Paul has consulted to both the UK Home Office, contributed to NHS Hospital Building Note 20 and in 2020, was heavily involved with the UK Government's response to facilitate temporary Mortuaries for COVID-19

Having purchased LEEC through an MBO in 2010 and becoming the sole owner of LEEC in 2014 having exited investors, Paul continues to propel LEEC forward, strongly supporting a management structure that will onwardly drive the company forward into the future as a world-leading British manufacturer for multiple fields including Laboratory, Pathology and Forensic equipment.

Congratulations Paul from all at LEEC Ltd
